As a result, cross-departmental communication improved, and daily workloads were completed three hours earlier in the day.

Media Asset File Transfer Organizer - Project Proposal approved in 2018, and with initial versions completed
Workflow was designed for our Program Ingest workflows, and streamlined the process for program deliveries that were made by file transfer.
1) Top bar includes links for operators to quickly navigate to regularily used or needed tools in our Program Ingest Operations.
2) Locked to the top of the workflow is these links, and column titles so they can be seen at anytime in scrolling.
3) Workflows Moved from left to right, and were organized in the order in which team members would require the information, or would be completing tasks.
4) Data was pre-programmed, and would auto-populate based on information in other fields. Ex. Once a program name was added the file location and vantage transcoder would be autofilled with the corresponding data.
Learnings:
Tracking workflow metrics saw an immediate improvement to completion organization and communication upon release. Team members provided feedback throughout development and after release, and the feedback helped with training as the final product was intuitive and made sense from the operators perspective, following along in the order that tasks needed to be completed. A program that was completed would change to complete automatically once operators initials were added at the end. Utilizing the sort function, allowed operators to view only work that was still required to be completed. This kept it organized, and the initials provided leadership with names to follow up with if there were program or playout issues with the completed file.
Next Steps: The immediate success of the project, as revealed by metrics and team feedback, lead to the greenlighting of overhauling numerous workflows and cross departmental tools.
